RESEARCH EXPERIENCE
Research Resident in Trauma Surgery (2011-2012) UC Davis Medical Center Department of Trauma Surgery, Sacramento, CA, USA. Involved in multiple clinical research projects including role of Plasmalyte in initial trauma resuscitation and use of ketorolac for treatment of rib fractures.
Research Assistant (2005-2008) Joslin Diabetes Center, Department of Developmental and Stem Cell biology (Harvard Medical School), MA, USA. Investigated hematopoietic stem cell fusion with skeletal muscle fibers as possible cellular treatment of muscular dystrophy.
Undergraduate Research Fellowship (2002-2004) Dept. of Neurobiology and Behavior (UC-Irvine), Irvine, CA, USA. Investigated neurobiology of learning and memory in Aplysia Californica, specifically role of Calcium/Calmodulin protein kinase in molecular pathway of memory formations.
Summer Intern (Summer 2001) Bio Applied Technologies, San Diego, CA, USA. Learned molecular biology lab technique of PCR and DNA sequencing.
Undergraduate Research Assistant (2000-2001) Dept. of Evolutionary Biology (UC-Irvine), Irvine, CA, USA. Studied genetics of breed Drosophilae with increase longevity due to postponed reproduction in evolutionary biology.
