PERSONAL BIO
Dr. Spitzer grew up in San Diego playing baseball and attended Coronado High School. It was there that his passion for medicine began. He graduated from UC San Diego magna cum laude with a degree in Human Biology. He pursued his medical degree at Loma Linda University School of Medicine where he graduated with honors. While at Loma Linda, he learned to care for the whole patient, taking into account the patient’s mind, body, beliefs and values. He left California for Wichita, Kansas where he trained at the University of Kansas in the full spectrum of general surgery.
He specializes in surgery involving the intestines, colon, rectum, breasts, gall bladder, hernias, stomach, spleen, and skin. He performs advanced laparoscopic procedures as well as robotic surgery.
Dr. Spitzer has a special interest in international service and has participated in medical service trips in Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Mexico and Honduras.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Spitzer enjoys going for walks with his family, trying new foods, going to museums, dancing with his wife, and traveling.
